Omli

Omli is a voice-first learning app that helps young children build speaking confidence, language skills, and logical thinking through natural conversation — not passive screen time. Founded in 2025 in Gurugram by Shivam Munshi and Siddhant Garg, Omli Kids features Doro, an AI companion that adapts to each child's interests, pace, and communication patterns through voice-based chats, stories, and thinking games. Most speech recognition systems are trained on adult voices and struggle with children's rhythm, pacing, and Indian accents. Omli built VedAnsh-v1, a proprietary speech-to-text and voice activity detection stack designed specifically for ages 3–10, including vernacular and regional speech patterns. Parents get transcripts, conversation summaries, growth insights, topic controls, and usage limits — creating a screen-free-like experience where the child talks and thinks rather than watches. Omli raised $1.5M in seed funding from India Quotient and General Catalyst, and claims ₹1.8 Cr ARR on a B2C subscription model with 500,000+ app downloads. The company operates with a ~15-person team and is building toward a broader children's voice interaction platform — starting with the consumer app as the first layer of speech infrastructure tuned for how kids actually sound.
